Dear Mixxer Makers,

Our Community Culture becomes more mindful and welcoming when we all share a sense of responsibility to each other.

Hopefully, you have noticed the signs ... around Mixxer regarding our New Year’s Resolutions of Community Care: care for each other, ourselves, and our Community. This is not new for our Community, but it is a renewed and mindful focus on making Mixxer a stronger community, welcoming for everyone, and being more cognizant of how our individual actions can contribute to a harmonious Community of Makers.

One way we're doing this by beginning a new program to train volunteers and mentors to be excellent stewards of Mixxer and mindful of what it takes to maintain a safe and welcoming space. Starting this month, we will be training future Volunteer Leaders.

Training for admin-type volunteer opportunities happens on the first Friday of each month, and maintenance training is scheduled for the third Friday. Through March, these sessions are training the trainers. Those will be leaders in our volunteer initiative. Joining as a Volunteer Leader is one way for you to become a central player in making Mixxer an excellent place for everyone who walks through our doors. We will share more ways for you to join us in caring for our Community throughout the year.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to another incredible year at Mixxer.

Dear Mixxer Makers,

As we step into 2025, I’m thrilled to reflect on the incredible strides we’ve made together and the exciting opportunities ahead. This past year, your generosity and commitment to our mission were truly inspiring. Thanks to your support, our year-end fundraiser surpassed its $10K goal! This success fuels our vision for the new year.

Our 2025 Resolution, Community Care: Care for each other, ourselves, and our space, embodies the spirit of Mixxer. It’s a reminder that fostering a thriving creative community starts with intentional care and connection.

To this end, I’m excited to share two new initiatives:

Our Volunteer Program:

We're launching a structured volunteer program to strengthen our collective efforts. Whether through assisting with events, organizing workshops, or maintaining our makerspace, there's a role for everyone to make a tangible impact.

Art & Soul Wellness Initiative: This program integrates art and wellness, offering free classes and creative opportunities to those facing socioeconomic challenges. Together, we’ll explore the power of creativity to heal, connect, and inspire.

I’m immensely proud of all we’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what we’ll create in 2025. Let’s make this year one of care and collaboration, where our shared passion for making drives us forward.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to another incredible year at Mixxer.

Now go make something amazing!
