2026 Camp Sessions
Week of June 1 - 5:
Jump into 3D design by learning Tinkercad, Fusion, and Blender—three tools that take you from simple models to engineering and animation. In just a few days, students will design, build, and bring their ideas to life while exploring both technical and creative sides of 3D modeling.
Intro to Printmaking - $300
Instructor: Savannah Shanley
AGE RANGE - Rising 6th -12th grade youth
Dive into printmaking by blending high-tech tools with hands-on techniques like screenprinting and laser cut drypoint etching. Students will design, produce, and print their own work while learning how digital and traditional methods come together to create bold, repeatable art.
Week of June 8 - 12:
Intro to Jewelry Making - $300

AGE RANGE - Rising 6th -12th grade youth
Turn everyday materials into standout jewelry while learning the tools and techniques used by real makers. Students will design, build, and finish their own pieces, combining upcycled elements with metal accents for a polished final product.

Intro to Woodworking - $350

Discover the art of woodworking by building your own stylish tote box from start to finish. Learn essential techniques, use professional tools, and add a personal touch with custom laser engraving.
Create a one-of-a-kind leather-bound journal while learning the tools and techniques of leatherworking. Students will cut, stitch, and assemble their own design, leaving with a functional piece they can use every day.
Week of June 15 - 19:
Video Game Design - Beginner- $350

Jump into the world of game creation with Unreal Engine! Learn the fundamentals of 3D environments, characters, and gameplay mechanics while bringing your own game ideas to life.
Standing Ovation Music Production - $400

Step inside a professional recording studio in Downtown Winston-Salem and learn the art and science behind audio recording, video production, songwriting, and digital content creation. From tracking vocals in a sound booth to building a song from scratch, students will experience the full creative process from idea to final product.
Intro to Sewing - $350

Take your first steps in fashion by learning essential sewing skills in this hands-on class. Students will master the sewing machine, explore patterns, and create their very own garment from start to finish.

Week of June 15 - 26: ( 2-Week Sessions)
Video Game Design - Beginner/Advanced- $600

Level up your game design skills in this two-week Unreal Engine intensive, perfect for beginners and those with some prior experience. Students will start with fundamentals like 3D environments and gameplay mechanics, then progress to advanced topics like level design, Blueprints scripting, and asset creation.
First Stitches to Upcycle Fashion- $600

Blacksmithing Bootcamp- $350

Jewelry Fabrication - Metal Clay - $300

Learn how to create custom jewelry using base metal clay, a material that transforms from soft clay into solid metal through heat. Students will explore the full process from design to finishing while building foundational jewelry-making skills.
Wood Working - Furniture Design - $350

Turn branches into bold, functional furniture in this hands-on build class. Learn how to shape, join, and assemble natural materials into a unique piece that’s both sturdy and expressive.

Intro to Robotics- $350

Learn how to design, build, and program your own robot in this hands-on robotics course. Students will explore core principles like structure, coding, and sensor integration while creating a functional robot.

Design and paint your own large-scale mural in this hands-on workshop. Students will learn mural techniques from sketch to final paint while creating a 4ft x 4ft piece on professional mural cloth to take home.

Design it - Make it! - $600
Instructor: Carrie Beach & Thaddeus Prevette
AGE RANGE - Rising 6th -10th grade youth
Bring your ideas to life in this open-ended maker experience where students design and build their own projects using Mixxer’s full range of shops. With guided instruction and independent work time, participants will develop their concepts from idea to finished product.
Create a Comic Book Character - $300
Instructor: Issis Kelly
AGE RANGE - Rising 6th -12th grade youth
Create your own comic by developing a unique character and bringing them to life through storytelling and illustration. Students will explore drawing techniques, expressions, and narrative structure while producing a finished comic strip.
Week of July 27 - 31:
Cardboard Engineering - $250
Instructor: Carrie Beach
AGE RANGE - Rising 6th -12th grade youth
Explore how to design and build creative projects using cardboard, one of the most versatile and accessible materials. Students will learn measuring, cutting, and construction techniques while experimenting with CAD and laser cutting to create functional and artistic projects.

1. How do I register my child for camp?
Answer: Registration can be completed online HERE. Simply choose the camp session you're interested in and fill out the registration form. You will need to provide your child's information and make a payment to secure their spot.
2. What is the age range for campers?
Answer: Our camp programs are designed for rising 6th through 12th grade students. Please check individual camp sessions for specific age requirements.
3. Where are you located?
Answer: Mixxer is located at 1375 Martin Luther King, Jr Drive between Wiseman Brewing and the Nash Racing Event Canter. Click here for directions.
4. What are Summer camp hours?
Answer: Programming runs Monday-Friday from 9:00am to Noon. Participants can be dropped off as early as 8:30 am and must be picked up by 12:30pm.
5. What is your cancellation policy?
Answer: We understand plans can change. Cancellations made up to two weeks before the camp start date will receive a full refund minus a processing fee. For more information or to request a refund, email STEAM@wsmixxer.org.
6. What should my child wear to camp?
Answer: Do to the nature of our facility ALL participants must wear close toed shoes. (Crocs Don't count). Metal and woodworking camps require students to wear jeans or other long pants made of natural fibers.
7. What measures are in place to ensure camper safety?
Answer: The safety of our campers is our top priority. All staff undergo background checks and are trained in first aid and emergency response. We maintain a high staff-to-camper ratio and have protocols in place for all emergencies.
8. Are meals and snacks provided?
Answer: Yes, we provide nutritious snacks each day along with a reusable water bottle. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies during registration.
9. Do you offer transportation to and from camp?
Answer: We provide needs-based transportation for youth living in Winston-Salem through our transportation partner Support Services of Forsyth County, Please email jason@wsmixxer.org for more information.
