to Mixxer Community Makerspace
A New Downtown Partnership Secures the Future of Wood Firing in Winston-Salem and Adds a Hybrid Kiln to Sawtooth’s Ceramics Program WINSTON-SALEM, NC – June 2026.
Sawtooth School for Visual Art is giving its wood fire program a new home. The nonprofit will permanently relocate its two wood fire kilns from the grounds of the North Carolina Museum of Art, Winston-Salem, to Mixxer Community Makerspace, a nonprofit makerspace in downtown Winston-Salem.
