Build a Bat Home

This is not just a great project to learn some basic woodworking, but can also be a great way to invite bats to help out your local natural ecosystem.

Build your very own bat box! Aside from eating over 1,000 mosquito-sized insects in one night, bats are also very important pollinators! This is not just a great project to learn some basic woodworking, but can also be a great way to invite bats to help out your local natural ecosystem. Finished bat box will measure approximately 30" tall, 6" deep and 8" wide.

Tools to be used include:

* Chopsaw

* Table Saw

* Drill

* Jigsaw

All materials, machines, safety gear will be supplied and included.

The box should be installed about 12ft off the ground and not above windows or doors (or anywhere you don't want bat poop falling). Also do not install too close to trees that will shade out the box.
