About the event
Learn the basic sewing skill of how to sew a zipper by making a simple fabric coin bag. In this class, you'll learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine and how to install a zipper using a zipper foot on the machine to create this cute, functional bag!
Mixxer will provide has sewing machines, but if you have a machine you are interested in learning on your own machine feel free to bring it.
Lead by: Lyssa Troemel (she/her)
Lyssa Troemel is in her third year of studies in Animatronics at UNCSA. Prior to enrolling at UNCSA, she was a props master and puppet builder in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Her work gained the attention of the local band Silbo Gomero and she collaborated with them to produce the award-winning shadow puppet music video “Whale Fall”. She also served on the Board of Directors of Puppeteers of America for two years. She loves to find ways to fuse the arts with technology and continues to do so in her studies.
