About the event
Learn how to bend metal and weld it into a decorative bow! This class will teach you some basic welding and metalworking techniques while creating this unique project perfect to celebrate a special occasion or for some lasting decor.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to wear natural materials (no spandex, nylon, etc.) and long pants that cover your boots or close toed shoes. We'll provide the rest of the safety gear you'll need.
Lead by: Lyssa Troemel (she/her)

Lyssa Troemel is in her third year of studies in Animatronics at UNCSA. Prior to enrolling at UNCSA, she was a props master and puppet builder in the Fort Wayne, IN area. Her work gained the attention of the local band Silbo Gomero and she collaborated with them to produce the award-winning shadow puppet music video “Whale Fall”. She also served on the Board of Directors of Puppeteers of America for two years. She loves to find ways to fuse the arts with technology and continues to do so in her studies. This class is for makers 13 years old and older. All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.
