Upcycle Halloween Costumes sponsored by Goodwill

Mixxer is partnering with Goodwill to offer this upcycle costume class! We all know that Goodwill is a great resource for recyclable materials. This Mixxer/Goodwill class will help transform your Goodwill finds into a wonderful costume!

You’ll bring your Goodwill finds to class along with an inspiration costume photo, if possible, or a good verbal explanation. Don’t forget to watch for the trim, doo-dads, fringe and ribbon you might want to use to bring to make your costume really stand out! We’ll help you cut, sew, attach and re/mix or re/fashion your finds into a costume!

When you come to our Goodwill partner class, you will receive a $10.00 Goodwill gift card along with the assistance with sewing, gluing, and cutting to make turn your Goodwill finds into a unique costume! That sheet can surely be a ghost, but a suit coat can be turned into a ringmaster’s jacket with some ribbon and trim. An old prom dress can be turned into a fairy princess skirt. Upcycle a hoodie and sweatpants into your favorite animal. Turn a gray t-shirt into a cool spider web costume with some scissors. Make a pumpkin costume out of an orange t-shirt. Use your imagination and Goodwill’s supplies to make a one of a kind costume at Mixxer!

MIXXER's own June Jones has been sharing her expertise and knowledge to members and offering a friendly hand in all their sewing projects. June has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Having had an established career as an electronics technician and running a business focused on sewing machine repairs, June can skillfully assess your machine and give you guidance in all its stitches and settings. Come by and learn stuff about your sewing machine!
