About the event
Bring your own T-shirt to customize it into a one of a kind garment! In this class, we will be sewing together your T-shirt and other garments or fabric you bring to class to create a new and unique garment. You'll learn some of the basics of using a sewing machine as well as how to creatively upcycle your clothing.
If you have a home sewing machine you prefer to work on, please bring it with you, otherwise we do have machines available for use.
Suggested clothing to bring: prewashed cotton t-shirts, prewashed cotton woven or knit fabrics or garments including skirts, dresses, blouses, etc.
Lead by: June Jones
MIXXER's own June Jones has been sharing her expertise and knowledge to members and offering a friendly hand in all their sewing projects. June has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Having had an established career as an electronics technician and running a business focused on sewing machine repairs, June can skillfully assess your machine and give you guidance in all its stitches and settings. Come by and learn stuff about your sewing machine!
This meet up is for makers 16 years old and older. All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.
