About the event

Rooted in Wellness is a holistic artistic residency workshop series created for creatives who pour endlessly into their craft. Designed as a sanctuary for restoration and expression, this residency invites participants into a deeply nurturing environment where wellness and creativity exist as one sacred practice.

Through guided reflection, breathwork, affirmations, journaling, movement, poetry, dialogue, and intentional creative exercises, artists are supported in releasing burnout, reconnecting with their inner voice, and cultivating sustainable holistic creative practices.

Rooted in Wellness honors the truth that artistry is not only born from inspiration—but also from rest, reflection, and self-compassion.

This series offers a safe space to be seen, heard and restored. Participants leave not only with creative output—but with tools for lifelong wellness, emotional grounding, and empowered self-expression.

Ciltona Cawthorne is a New York born artist advocate for marginalized communities and performs as Deeply Black- The Griot. Her work focuses on amplifying the voices of women that have often been overlooked within society. Her work centers on the themes of discovering one’s self-worth, becoming healed and empowered, combatting discouragement and dismantling oppressive systematic strongholds that afflict marginalized communities. Ciltona draws inspiration from her history and rich culture, the incredible family of creatives that raised her and from God that loves unconditionally.

Ciltona says her poetry is a conversation, an embrace, a nurturing space where the reader knows they are seen, heard, and valued. She stands firm in the knowledge that women of color and marginalized communities are more than capable to create, build and sustain our own tables.

This meet up is for all ages! Makers under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult.
