About the event
In this series, you will learn the basics of screen printing from art design to printing your very own garment!
In part one, you will learn how to create artwork suitable for printing and the process for getting your artwork onto a screen. Discover how to use free resources to create your design, regardless of artistic ability you will be able to make a design you’ll love! Learn how to take your artwork from computer to a physical screen through printing on transparent paper before burning the design into the screen. Lastly, learn what goes into preparing screens to hold artwork for printing.
Then in part two, we will take the screens prepared from the first class or a premade screen from Mixxer if you did not attend the first session and print on your chosen garment! You will learn how to prep your screen for printing, how to setup the manual press and how to align your garment correctly to ensure proper print placement. After printing we will go over how to cure the ink so that your garment is safe to wash. Once the printing is done you will then learn the cleanup and screen reclaim process so that the screen can be reused again and again.
This private class will include both parts 1 and 2. Please bring all cotton garments to be printed on.
