About the event
Come learn how to use the laser cutter to create a mold for your own custom pewter piece of art! This class will take you through the process from start to finish of how to create a design with the laser cutter, make a mold, and then cast your own pewter project! You'll start with learning all the basics of how to use the laser cutter in order to make the wooden version of your project. You'll have the chance to learn how to create your file, operate the laser cutter, and how to find future designs for your laser projects. With your wooden version, you will learn how to create your own mold before learning how to safely use that mold to create your pewter object. By the end of this class, you'll have learned the basics of laser cutting and creating molds that you could use for metal casting or resin casting!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to wear natural materials (no spandex, nylon, etc.) and long pants that cover your boots or close toed shoes. We'll provide the rest of the safety gear you'll need.
