Intro to Sewing: All the Basics

Minimum Age: 13 years old

Jump into the world of sewing and learn the basics you need to get started on your sewing journey! We'll take you through how to adjust your machine to your project, thread your machine, and sew your first stitches. You'll leave with your very first project.

If you have your own sewing machine, bring it along or use one of Mixxer's. If you do bring your machine, make sure you bring any attatchemnts and your manual if possible.

MIXXER's own June Jones has been sharing her expertise and knowledge to members and offering a friendly hand in all their sewing projects. June has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Having had an established career as an electronics technician and running a business focused on sewing machine repairs, June can skillfully assess your machine and give you guidance in all its stitches and settings. Come by and learn stuff about your sewing machine!

All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.

Workshops must meet a minimum number of registrations.  Mixxer may cancel workshop 48 hours prior to start time, if minimum is not met. Should you need to cancel your registration, 48 hours notice is required to request a cancellation, refund or credit to future workshop date.
