About the event
Make a set of practice eyes to take home, along with a personalized puppet wig. Learn the basics of using your puppet: Stance, Focus and Lip Sync.
Note: BYOS (Bring your own sock. If you forget a clean sock there will be some available for an additional fee. No socks will be harmed in this class.)
Lead by: Murphy Boski (she/her)
Murphy (Sharon Murphy Boski) came to the area to study electronic puppetry and has stayed around to explore her art form of Puppetry here at Mixxer. A professional puppeteer with a 30+ year career in Puppetry Arts, Murphy has found puppetry to be the reason to learn all sorts of (normally) unrelated things. She loves exploring new ways to use old materials and techniques as well as trying new techniques and materials with old ways of working. Her specialty is using 2-D and 3-D art in 4-D art forms.
This class is for makers 9 years old and older. All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.
