Intro to Combat Robotics

Minimum Age: 13 years old

Learn all the basic skills of robotics and create your very own 1lb combat robot! During this class, you'll be taken through the process of building and testing your very own combat robot. Starting with a choice of 3 basic designs from a seasoned builder, you'll be taken through all the skills you need to assemble your bot. This class will teach you how to print each part, assemble the electronics, and finally assemble all the pieces together. By the end of this class, you'll walk away with a competition-ready 1 lb Plant Weight robot ready to be entered into our next competition!

Lead by: Neil Underwood (he/him)

Neil Underwood is a long time member of the local maker community having started the first Hackerspace in Winston Salem back in 2011. He is also one of the North American administrators for the RepRap 3d printing research organization, and has a certificate in electrical engineering. These days Neil is a Graduate of Northern Lights Santa Academy and member of the Fraternal order of Real Beard Santas.
