About the event
Join us for this 2 part class on the basics of how to sew a garment! This class will take you through the basics of understanding a pattern, picking your fabric & notions, and sewing your garment together. During the first session (2/14) you will learn about reading and understanding a pattern, how to cut the pieces, and how to pick & cut your fabric for the garment. The second session (2/21) will take you through the process of sewing together your garment, adding notions and other special details. By the end you'll have a complete understanding of how to create your very own garment. This class is perfect for the complete beginner or if you have a little bit of experience!
Feel free to bring your own machine if you have one or use one of Mixxer's!

MIXXER's own June Jones has been sharing her expertise and knowledge to members and offering a friendly hand in all their sewing projects. June has been sewing for as long as she can remember. Having had an established career as an electronics technician and running a business focused on sewing machine repairs, June can skillfully assess your machine and give you guidance in all its stitches and settings. Come by and learn stuff about your sewing machine!
This class is for makers 12 years old and older. All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.
