About the event
Reach the next step in your 3D modeling mastery with this intermediate skill-building class! In this class, you'll learn about displacement mapping, a skill where you will find a 2D image and use tools in Blender to turn the image into a 3D projection off the surface. Displacement mapping is the easiest way to add very high levels of detail to beginner-level projects! This is the perfect skill to use to add fur onto a 3D critter or decorative details on a mask. By the end of the class, you'll have modeled your very own rolling cookie cutter with a design of your choosing!
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an intermediate-level class. Please have a basic knowledge of Blender or take our Intro to Blender: 3D Modeling class before taking this class.
Lead by: Dakota Pahel-Short (she/her)

Hi, I'm Dakota. I went to school for architecture and currently work at a high end furniture design firm running their 3d printers and doing their 3d modeling and rendering. I've worked in a lot of different fields from the building construction industry to city planning. I'm sort of a jack of all trades when it comes to making both with my hands and digitally. My current hobbies are home renovation, cosplay, and building cnc machines. I'm always short on time but I love to brain storm and either get inspired or help inspire others. So come talk to me about your crazy projects!
